Adventurer, Humanitarian Ryan Kirk, 36

Visitation hours set for Friday evening.

Ryan Kirk, son, brother, friend, and humanitarian, left this world on Dec. 27, 2013 at age 36.  Ryan was a man with an adventurous spirit who lived simply, felt deeply, and gave generously to those in need.

He took extreme pride in his loving family, including his mother, Jan, father, Don, brothers, Tim and Kevin, and best friend, Carol.

He was a man who knew defeat, knew suffering, knew struggle and, as such, had an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that filled him with compassion, gentleness, and a deep-loving concern for others.

His legacy is defined by the people he cared for and the community he served.

Visitation will be held at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel on Friday, Jan. 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 4 at St. Mary’s Church, 26 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel at 2:30 p.m.

The Kirk family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers and/or gifts, donations in Ryan Kirk's memory be made on behalf of Carol King / C/O Attorney Jeffrey R Heyel.

Checks may be made out to "Attorney Jeffrey Heyel, Trustee" and sent to: 2 Stony Hill Road (Route 6), Bethel, CT 06801.
