Dan Garvin Scores his 1000th Point!

Bethel High School Boys' Basketball Player Dan Garvin Scores his 1000 Point!

On Saturday night, February 16th in the BHS gymnasium against Oxford, Dan Garvin scored his 1000th career varsity point in boys basketball. Going into the game, he was just 6 points shy of joining the BHS 1000 point club, and midway through the first quarter he made it official. Dan dribbled the ball down the court and passed it off, only to receive it back seconds later, take three hard dribbles to left, and pull up just outside the elbow for a 2 point jumper that would put him at 1001 points.

The game was stopped, and Coach Ray Turek presented Dan with his 1000th point ball! Dan went on to score 22 points in the game.

Dan will play at D1 Bryant University next year on a full scholarship.

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
