A Cause for a Champion - 2013 Jaxxon Reed Fundraiser

Sunday, March 3rd at New Milford High School from 12 to 3pm. Champion and NMHS cheerleaders will be performing and there will be gift basket raffles, auctions, and concessions. Admittance $10

Please join us for our annual Jaxxon Reed fundraising event, ‘A Cause for a Champion’.

At age 7 when other children were outside playing and enjoying their childhood, Jaxxon was fighting for his life. In 2006, the day after Thanksgiving, Jaxxon Reed complained to his mother that his head was “burning”.  The next day he was in surgery for a rare malignant brain tumor (Neuroblastoma).  The life threatening surgery was followed by numerous rounds of chemotherapy and experimental medicines.  It is not only a miracle that he survived this rare cancer, he is currently cancer free at 5 years out!  We are thankful for Jaxxon's recovery but because of the many experimental medicines and quick fixes he is still fighting his fight and still requires our help.  He is currently living in Bethel, CT with his family.

This year the fundraising event is being held on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013 at New Milford High School from noon to 3pm.  We are co-hosting this event with the New Milford High School Cheerleading program.  We are all excited to be working together for Jaxxon.  He will be present at this event and it's his FAVORITE day of the year!  Champion All-Star Cheerleaders as well as the NMHS Cheerleaders will be performing in exhibition that day.  This fundraising event is very special to all of us.  We encourage you to bring your friends and family to this event and enjoy the team spirit.  In addition to the performances there will be gift basket raffles, auctions, and concessions.  Admittance to the fundraiser event will be $10 at the door.

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
