Bethel Mom of Four Battling Lupus, Fibromyalgia

A fundraiser in her name is collecting donations toward her increasing medical bills.

Two years ago, Bethel resident Linda was diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia.

"Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body)," according to the Lupus Foundation of America website. "Chronic means that the signs and symptoms tend to last longer than six weeks and often for many years."

A GoFundMe page was created for Linda, by Cara Marie, to help raise money for Linda's medical bills.

"She is currently unable to work and will soon be undergoing chemo treatments in an attempt to push her lupus back into remission," Cara Marie wrote on the page. "Since she has had to leave her job due to her illness she has accumulated a number of medical bills. This ongoing fundraiser is to raise money to cover medical expenses as well as to donate money to the Lupus Foundation for further research on new medications and treatments for Lupus."

As of Dec. 12, $225 has been raised, out of a $5,000 goal. If you'd like to help out, visit Linda's GoFundMe page.
