String Fingers Band at Stone River Grille!!!!

The String Fingers Band is a dynamic group of Connecticut-based musicians whose music crosses borders from traditional folk and roots Americana to progressive bluegrass. The band was formed in 2008 by Dan Tressler (fiddle/mandolin/vocals) and Dan Carlucci (guitar/mandolin/vocals). Tressler is a longtime Easton, CT native and versatile musician who got his start as a member of his family band, The Jackson Pike Skifflers. Carlucci was introduced to Tressler in 2001 by a mutual friend and the two quickly established a fruitful musical partnership. Berklee College of Music alumnus David Kaye (banjo/dobro/pedal steel), joined The String Fingers Band shortly after the release of their first album "Strung Up" (2008) and has helped to round out the nucleus of the band. The newest member of the group, Bob Csugie (bass/vocals), has been a fixture of the Connecticut bluegrass scene for over 20 years, performing and recording with dozens of ensembles both locally and nationally.

The String Fingers Band is playing in support of their most recent record "Don't Forget", which fiddler Britanny Hass lauded as "an all-around noteworthy addition to the current climate of acoustic fusion music." The unique, yet familiar sound of the band draws heavily from their original catalog and also highlights some of their biggest influences like Tim O'Brien, Tony Rice, James Taylor, John Hartford, and Bela Fleck. Their vast repertoire means every concert comes with welcome surprises, from their rustic, soulful originals to barn-burning fiddle tunes and creative takes on classic American songs.

The popularity of The String Fingers Band has risen locally and they were recently voted "Best Bluegrass Band" by The Fairfield County Weekly two years in a row (2010, 2011). The String Fingers Band plays regularly at premier venues throughout New England and New York. Members of the band have performed with folk legend Pete Seeger and bluegrass icon Ralph Stanley, and the group has recently shared the stage with artists such as Noam Pikelny, Darrell Scott, Bill Frisell, Sierra Hull, and Phil Rosenthal of The Seldom Scene.
