First Selectman Candidates on Aquarion Deal, Future of Bethel Water

Candidates for First Selectman talk about the failed Aquarion proposal and what to do with Bethel's water systems.

Bethel Patch sat down with the two major party candidates for First Selectman, incumbent Matthew Knickerbocker (D) and challenger William Duff (R), to talk about the campaign, the issues facing the town and their perspectives on how best to manage a town.

In this second installment, the candidates talk about the proposal to sell Bethel’s water infrastructure to Aquarion Water Company — which failed at referendum — and how the town should maintain the deteriorating systems moving forward.

Also see an introduction from the candidates on why they’re running for the top job in the first segment.
