Join a Good Friday walk or take a bellydancing class for mothers. What will you do this weekend?

Bethel: Community Good Friday Walk

Where: Bishop Curtis Homes, 28 Simeon Road

When: Friday, March 29, Noon to 1:15 p.m.

Description: Join Christians of all traditions in reliving Jesus' journey to the cross. The walk takes about 75 minutes and concludes at The First Congregational Church of Bethel, where a meatless lunch will be served.

Bethel: Mothering the Mother Bellydancing Classes

When: Sunday, March 31, 2013

Where: 170 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, CT

Cost: Free

Description: Join me in this class that has been designed especially for mothers. Learn the ancient art of bellydance as you tone your already beautiful body. Explore your sensual side as you relax and find joy in dancing. Create an experience that nurtures yourself through dance and the support of other mothers. This class is a special combination of dance, breath, and affirmations. Your first class is FREE!

Newtown: Bunny Watch Hayride

When: March 29 and 30, 10:00 a.m.

Where: Fairfield Hills campus

Cost: $5.00

Description: Antique tractors pull wagons on the paved walking trails at the Fairfield Hills campus while little riders in bunny ears and their families spot and tally dozens of bunnies in all shapes and sizes hidden throughout the long leisurely ride. There have also been reports that the Easter Bunny lives at the top of the hill and comes out to wave to the kids during the ride.

Middlebury: Troop 444 Flower Sale

Where: Shepardson Community Center, 1172 Whittemore Road

When: Friday and Saturday, March 29 and 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: Cost of flowers varies

Description: Beautiful selection of daffodils, lilies, tulips, hyacinths, hydrangeas, hanging baskets, mini roses and more.

Southbury: Run With the Panthers 5K Road Race

Where: Pomperaug High School, 234 Judd Rd.

When: Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m.

Cost: $25

Description: Registration is available on race day. The event takes place rain or shine. All proceeds benefit PHS sophomore class activities.

Woodbury: Easter Egg Decorating

Where: Woodbury Public Library, 269 Main St. South

When: Saturday, March 30, 10:30 a.m.

Cost: Free

Description: Drop in to decorate eggs for Easter. Just bring one dozen hard boiled eggs and the library will supply the rest.  All ages welcome; no registration necessary.

Greenwich: Easter Saturday Egg Dyeing & Scavenger Hunt

First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich

When: Saturday, March 30, 10 a.m.

Cost: Free.

Description: A Two-Part Program:

  • Easter Egg Dyeing: Bring the Egg Coloring fuss to us! Bring your own hardboiled eggs ready to decorate and we will have all the supplies for you.

New Canaan: Easter at The Roger Sherman Inn

Where: Roger Sherman Inn, 195 Oenoke Ridge, New Canaan

Description: An Easter brunch with an "irresistable" menu, plus the Inn hosts its second annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny has hidden 1,000 eggs across the Inn's lawn, with prizes for both children and adults. The event is open to restaurant patrons and the public; festivities begin at 12:00pm. Dining is available between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. for dining.
