Weekend Forecast and Beyond: Friday, March 25

Spring is here, but it's still going to feel more like winter.

Today: Fair skies, but chilly. High: 40.

The forecast for Bethel over the next several days is a chilly one. With a weather pattern more typical of late January than late March, it's going to feel like winter never left. On the bright side, conditions may begin to moderate by next week.

Today: As low pressure continues to pass well off towards our east, cooler air will work in behind it. With a persistent northwest flow, temperatures will remain on the chilly side. Highs today will only top out around 40 degrees, which is well below the average high in the lower 50s. At least there will be sunshine and just a few fair weather clouds in the skies.

Tonight: Cold conditions are expected tonight, as skies will be partly to mostly clear. With a Canadian air mass overhead, lows will take a tumble overnight. By early Saturday morning, most areas will start the day in the teens.

Saturday: The core of the cold air is slated for Saturday, as conditions should turn even chillier. After a cold start to the day, temperatures will be slow to rebound. Highs will not get out of the 30s, making it feel more like late January than late March.

Sunday: With a cold pool of air rotating over southern Canada and New England, the storm track will be shifted. Since the cold air has been drawn so far south, storms will actually pass well south of this area. A low pressure system is forecast to miss us well to the south, although there could be a few additional clouds in the area. Temperatures will continue to remain on the chilly side.

Early next week: Although the pattern looks to stay chilly, there may be some relief in the extended forecast. Longer-term patterns show some moderation next week, as highs may get back into the 40s by Monday and Tuesday.

Today: Fair skies with chilly temperatures. Highs around 40.

Tonight: Partly to mostly clear, cold. Lows in the upper teens.

Saturday: Sunshine and clouds, chilly. Highs in the upper 30s.

Sunday: Clouds as a storm passes south. Highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: A mixture of sun and clouds. Highs in the lower 40s.

Tuesday: Fair skies and remaining cool. Highs in the mid-40s.
