Weekend Forecast and Beyond: Friday, April 15

Turning cooler and more rain is on the way.

Today: Plenty of sunshine, cooler. High: 58.

After the Bethel area enjoyed a beautiful Thursday, with highs in the 60s, cooler weather is on the way. High pressure across southern Canada will keep temperatures down into the first half of the weekend. After some wet weather moves out on Sunday, milder weather will return.

Today: Despite a great deal of sunshine today, temperatures will be close to 10 degrees cooler than they were on Thursday. Highs will only reach the upper 50s, which is slightly cooler than average for mid-April. Some fair weather clouds will blend with the sunshine by afternoon.

Tonight: Have that jacket or sweatshirt handy tonight, because it will turn chilly. As skies remain partly clear, temperatures will take a tumble. Readings will bottom out in the mid to upper 30s towards morning.

Saturday: Skies will quickly turn overcast ahead of the next storm system. The first showers could reach the area by afternoon. The clouds will keep temperatures down, as highs are forecast to only reach the lower 50s. If you have plans during the daytime, keep in mind some rain is possible in the afternoon. Periods of rain will move in by later Saturday night and could be heavy at times.

Sunday: Any lingering showers will end first thing Sunday morning and the sun may even break through the clouds later in the day. This will mean somewhat milder temperatures, as highs should approach the 60 degree mark. Since most of the day should be dry, Sunday may be the better of the two weekend days to plan some outdoor activities.

Early next week: Milder weather looks to greet us early next week, but cloudiness may linger. No major storms are expected and highs should make it back into the 60s.

Today: Sunshine, a few clouds, cooler. Highs in the upper 50s.

Tonight: Partly cloudy and chilly. Lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Saturday: Clouds, showers at night. Highs in the lower 50s.

Sunday: Showers ending, turning milder. Highs around 60.

Monday and Tuesday: Clouds with some sunshine, mild.
Highs in the low to mid-60s.
