Weekend Forecast and Beyond: Friday, April 1

Storm moves out, improving weekend weather ahead.

Today: Rain and wet snow showers. High: 43.

As low pressure moves east of New England today, conditions will remain damp and chilly in Bethel. The weekend should be much more pleasant, with partially clearing skies and milder temperatures. The next storm is possible by early next week.

Today: Steady precipitation will be done first thing this morning, but scattered showers will continue. Temperatures high up in the atmosphere will be cold enough for snow, but we have an early April sun angle to work with, keeping the ground warmer. The result is a mixture of rain and wet snow showers throughout the day, but the precipitation should generally be light. Highs will only make it into the low and possibly mid-40s.

Tonight: As low pressure approaches down-east Maine, it will continue to draw in cold air from the northwest. Skies will remain mostly cloudy and some wet snow showers could linger into the first part of the evening. After midnight, things should dry up and temperatures will drop back to around 30 degrees.

Saturday: A few slick spots are possible early Saturday morning, but some sunshine will help quickly raise temperatures. Highs should top out around 50 degrees by afternoon, which is much closer to normal. As the day wears on, more sunshine will break through the cloud-cover.
