Your Bethel area forecast details:

Today: The worst of the heat wave is here, so take care when going outside. Afternoon highs soar into the upper 90s and it will be uncomfortably muggy. This means the heat index could go as high as 110 degrees. Please minimize time outdoors and keep an eye on pets, children and the elderly to make sure they stay cool.

Tonight: Aside from a slight risk of an early evening thunderstorm, skies stay partly cloudy through the night. Watch out for areas of fog and it stays humid as lows only bottom out in the lower 70s.

Saturday: It stays hot into the first half of the weekend, but humidity levels finally start to lower. Highs still reach the mid-90s and the heat index could briefly go as high as 100 degrees. A few isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible late in the day.

Sunday: The weather pattern begins to change for the second half of the weekend. It will be partly sunny and not nearly as warm, with highs topping out in the mid-80s. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly late in the day and at night.

Monday into Tuesday: As low pressure moves through the area, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. The rain and clouds keep temperatures down, as highs only reach the lower 80s.
