Bethel resident Martin Toteland shows off his backpack, covered in patches from his life's travels.
His favorite: the patch shown in detail in the above photo. Toteland says he got it in Sarajevo when he was just 10 years old, giving a speech with the Red Cross of Norway just after the end of the Bosnian war. Aftwards, he rode in a tank with NATO peacekeeping forces, who gave him the patch.
"I put it on so I'd always remember," he said.
