Memorial Day Weekend Forecast: Expect More Heat

Things will really heat up for the holiday weekend.

Today: Warm/humid, p.m. t-storms. High: 85.

With this weekend being the unofficial kick-off to summer, the weather is sure going to feel like it. We will see warm days and muggy nights, with a few isolated thunderstorms, If you don't have the A/C up and running yet, this weekend may be the time to get it going.

Today: A storm system will move along a frontal boundary to our northwest today. This will keep us on the warm and muggy side, as high temperatures reach the mid-80s. Hazy sunshine will mix with some clouds and a few pop-up thunderstorms are possible. Keep an eye to the skies, as any storms today could be strong with gusty winds.

Tonight: Scattered thunderstorms will come to an end tonight, although there will not be much in the way of relief beyond that. Lows will only fall into the lower 60s, which is well above normal for this time of the year.

Saturday: The storminess will linger into the first half of the weekend. Clouds will break for some sunshine, but a few thunderstorms will pass through the area. Temperatures will be nudged down just a bit, with highs up around 80 degrees. Have an umbrella handy as any storms could have brief downpours.

Sunday: Another warming trend will begin as we inch closer to the holiday. Outdoor plans will be greeted with warm sunshine and muggy conditions. Highs will reach the lower 80s and there is just a slight risk for an isolated thunderstorm.

Memorial Day: If you have any activities planned for the holiday on Monday, dress accordingly. It is going to be very warm and humid, as temperatures soar into the mid-80s. This will lead to instability and a few thunderstorms could roll through late in the day.

Tuesday: The warmth looks to continue as the week wears on. In fact, hazy sunshine, high levels of humidity and very warm conditions are expected. The current outlook has upper 80s for highs on Tuesday.
