Memorial Day Forecast: The Heat Continues

Staying very summer-like into a new week.

Today: Warm and humid, t-storm? High: 88.

It continues to feel a lot like summer in the Bethel area. The trend of warmer than average temperatures and high levels of humidity will continue for the next few days. Some relief may eventually come towards the end of the week.

Today: The weather will feel more like July than May for this Memorial Day. Morning temperatures will already be in the 70s, giving way to upper 80s by afternoon. This along with hazy sunshine and high humidity will make it feel a bit uncomfortable out there. Also be on the lookout for a few isolated thunderstorms. All in all, it should be a great day for outdoor activities, but try to stay cool and hydrated.

Tonight: Any thunderstorms will end early this evening. It will stay warm and muggy all night, with temperatures only falling into the mid-60s. There will be some areas of fog towards daybreak as well.

Tuesday: Depending on what type of weather you enjoy, Tuesday may be the pick of this forecast. Sunshine will mix with just a few clouds, as temperatures remain warm. Highs may be a few degrees cooler than Monday, with readings reaching the mid-80s. If you have an extra day off or a chance otherwise, it should be a perfect beach day. There is only a slight risk of a pop-up t-storm.

Wednesday: All of this heat and humidity comes to a head on Wednesday. An approaching cold front will keep us on the warm and humid side, but afternoon and evening thunderstorms are likely. There is also a potential for strong to severe storms, so keep an eye to the skies. Highs should remain in the mid-80s.

End of the week: Once a cold front does pass through, cooler and drier air can be expected for Thursday and Friday. Fair skies are forecast for both days, along with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
