Jackknifed Tractor Trailer Closes I-84 West

Department of Transportation officials say lanes should reopen in approximately two hours; one eastbound lane was also closed due to an unrelated accident nearby.

A jackknifed tractor trailer truck has closed both westbound lanes of Interstate 84, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The interstate is closed between exits 8 and 9, and DOT officials expect to reopen lanes within two hours or less, say reports.

DOT's web site also reported a two-vehicle accident in the eastbound lane, between exits 8 and 9, at about 4 p.m.

A State Police official from Troop A in Southbury said no injuries have been reported and that the accident in the eastbound lane was "minor."

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
