Forecast For The Week of Monday, March 7

Fair skies and cooler until the next storm moves in.

Today: Showers end, breezy/cooler. High: 40.

The Bethel area will see improving conditions early this week, as the weekends' storm system moves off to the northeast. Fair skies and cool temperatures are expected right through Wednesday. The next potential storm may bring more rain for the end of the week.

Today: A few rain or snow showers may linger first thing this morning, but dry and breezy conditions are expected from late morning on. It will be much cooler, as highs will struggle to reach the 40 degree mark, despite clearing skies. Temperatures will start to tumble through the 30s as the sun goes down.

Tonight: Prepare for a return to winter tonight, as much colder air continues to move in. Under mostly clear skies, low temperatures will bottom out in the lower 20s. Make sure you bundle up as you head back to school and work on Tuesday.

Tuesday: With high pressure passing north of the area on Tuesday, fair skies will continue. Temperatures may be a touch milder than Monday, with highs forecast to reach the lower 40s. Nighttime temperatures will be cold again, as lows will fall back into the 20s.

Wednesday: A slight moderation trend in temperatures will begin by Wednesday. Clouds will also be increasing by late in the day and highs are forecast to reach the mid-40s. Clouds at night will help keep temperatures from falling very low, with lows in the 30s.

End of week: The next storm system may have a lot of similarities to the storm that impacted the region this past weekend. A slow moving low pressure system is expected to move into the Great Lakes and eventually make it into New England. Scattered showers and periods of rain are forecast for Thursday and Friday, along with mild temperatures. Stay tuned to future forecasts for more details on the next storm system.

Highs in the upper 40s to around 50.
