Forecast For The Week of Monday, March 28

Winter hangs on as the forecast remains chilly.

Today: Plenty of sunshine. High: 44.

Even though March gives way to April later this week, the Bethel area will continue to feel more like February. A storm system during the middle of the week could possibly even bring some wintry precipitation back to the area.

Today: A pleasant day is on tap today, as skies will remain mostly sunny. Despite the bright sunshine, temperatures will be staying on the chilly side. Highs are forecast to only reach up into the mid-40s, which is between 8 and 10 degrees below average for this time of the year.

Tonight: Skies will remain mostly clear tonight and another unseasonably chilly night is expected. Temperatures will quickly fall into the 30s this evening and wind up in the 20s once again by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday: As high pressure slowly advances towards the area, slightly milder weather will also follow. Although skies should be mostly sunny, some fair weather clouds will mix in by afternoon. Highs will once rise into the mid-40s, so it should be a degree or two milder than Monday.

Wednesday: Things begin to get a bit interesting by the middle of the week. High pressure is forecast to move into the Northeastern United States, combined with developing low pressure across the lower Mississippi Valley. Depending on how strong that low becomes and where it tracks will determine how stormy things may get. Skies are expected to become mostly cloudy and some mixed precipitation cannot be ruled out by Wednesday night.

Thursday: Low pressure is expected to pass south of the area on Thursday, but once again, the exact evolution of this storm is key. Since temperatures may be on the cold side, with high pressure to the north, wintry precipitation cannot be completely ruled out. Stay tuned to Patch for further details on this forecast as things become more clear. Either way, clouds may linger through the day, with temperatures staying on the chilly side.

Friday: Clearing skies are likely to round out the week. With a cool weather pattern continuing and no strong signal for warmer air, readings will likely stay below average. Highs are forecast to end the week in the upper 40s to possibly near the 50 degree mark.

Today: Plenty of sunshine, but chilly. Highs in the lower 40s.

Tonight: Mostly clear, remaining chilly. Lows in the lower 20s.

Tuesday: Fair skies, cool temperatures. Highs in the mid-40s.

Wednesday: Clouds on the increase. Highs in the upper 40s.

Thursday and Friday: Clouds, a.m. precip possible Thursday, clearing Friday.
Highs in the upper 40s to around 50.
