As a low pressure system spins off the New England coast, clouds will remain in the forecast for the Bethel area. As we move towards the middle and end of this week, conditions are expected to slowly improve.

Today: All in all, the weather today is going to be very similar to how it was on Sunday. Mostly cloudy skies may break for a few sunny periods. At the same time, a passing shower is possible at any point. Highs may briefly touch the lower 70s, but any shower activity would keep temperatures down in the 60s.

Tonight: Skies will vary from partly to mostly cloudy tonight. We could see an isolated shower, but mainly dry conditions are expected. It will turn relatively cool, with lows in the mid-50s.

Tuesday: The best chance of rain in the coming days comes on Tuesday. Moisture from the offshore storm will pinwheel back into Connecticut. This means mostly cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and a few showers can be expected. Highs will struggle to reach the mid-60s.

Wednesday: As the storm begins to drift out to sea, improving weather is expected by the middle of the week. As clouds break for some sunshine on Wednesday, highs should rebound into the lower 70s.

End of the week: Although there are no major storms in the forecast, any summer-like warmth is going to have to wait for a while. Fair skies are expected, along with seasonably cool temperatures.
