Forecast For The Week of Monday, Feb. 14

It will feel a lot like spring by the end of this week.

Today: Mostly cloudy, mild. High: 45.

The Bethel area will have a mild day today, but a reinforcing shot of cold air will work in for Tuesday. Once we get to Wednesday and beyond, things will turn milder once again and the region will receive an early taste of spring.

Today: Conditions will remain mostly cloudy, but mild today. A low pressure system will pass north of our area, keeping us in the mild sector, but the storm will also bring some clouds. The clouds will actually keep temperatures from rising much higher. There is also a slight risk for a few sprinkles, but conditions are expected to be mainly dry.

Tonight: A cold front will pass through the area this evening, bringing an end to the mild weather. A few sprinkles or flurries could accompany the frontal passage, but it should not be a big deal. Temperatures will quickly fall through the 30s and eventually into the 20s after midnight.

Tuesday: A brief return to winter is in store for Bethel on Tuesday. Morning temperatures will start in the 20s, but mostly sunny skies will help warm things up into the 30s by afternoon. Highs typically average near 40 this time of the year, so it will still be a bit cooler than normal. Mostly clear skies Tuesday night will set the stage for a very cold night, but things will turn around beyond that.

Wednesday: Despite a cold start to the day, conditions will quickly turn milder. Sunshine and a warmer flow of air, from the southwest, will help temperatures make it into the 40s by the afternoon.

Thursday and Friday: With high pressure moving off the East Coast, mild air will grace the northeastern United States for the end of the week. We will get an early taste of spring, as highs will likely reach or exceed 50 degrees both days. Clouds will be on the increase by Friday, but no major storms are in the forecast.

Today: Mostly cloudy skies, but mild. Highs in the mid-40s.

Tonight: Clearing and colder after midnight. Lows in the upper teens.

Tuesday: Plenty of sunshine, but chilly. Highs in the lower 30s.

Wednesday: Sunshine and much milder. Highs in the mid-40s.
