Bridge Closure in Bethel Beginning in October

Come October 4, Bethel residents and commuters will be detoured due to reconstruction of a culvert and roadway.

 

The bridge at the intersection of Walnut Hill and Weed Roads in Bethel will be closed in both directions beginning Thursday, October 4, according to a press release from Bethel First Selectman Matthew S. Knickerbocker.

Reconstruction of the culvert and roadway will take place, Knickerbocker said.

Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the road closures.

The estimated date of construction completion and the bridge reopening is Friday, October 12, weather permitting.
