  • There are no municipal meetings in Bethel tonight.

Events, Reminders, Notices

  • Candidate Forum: Tonight, the Bethel PTO and the Bethel Education Association will be co-sponsoring a non-partisan candidate forum for those running for the Board of Education. Seven positions will be on the ballot. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Bethel High with candidates representing the Democratic and Working Families Parties answering questions. At 7:45 p.m. candidates from the Republican, Independent and Connecticut Tea Parties will answer questions. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
  • La Leche League Meeting: All pregnant and nursing mothers and their children are welcome to attend the regular La Leche Leauge of Northern Fairfield County at St. Thomas Church, located at 95 Greenwood Ave. Bethel, from 10-11 a.m.
  • Kindergarten Registration: The Bethel Public Schools is currently accepting pre-registration for students who will be entering kindergarten in August 2012. You can start the process by calling Sue White at 203-830-7355 any day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You will be asked for basic contact information so that the Board of Education can provide you with paperwork prior to our formal registration in April. In early February you will receive a packet of paperwork to complete, as well as your child’s school assignment.
  • Today's Flu Clinics: Bethel's Visiting Nurses Association will hold  today at the Brookfield YMCA, located at 2 Huckleberry Road, from 6:30-9 a.m.; at the Redding Senior Center, located at 37 Lonetown Road, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; and at the Bethel Senior Center, located at 1 School Street, from 2-4 p.m.
