Municipal Meetings

  • Bethel's Planning & Zoning Commission is meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the municipal center in Meeting Room D (agenda). 

Events, Reminders, Notices

  • Computer Maintenance: Bethel Library's adult programing is having a basic computer maintenance session from 2:15-3:30 p.m. today. Register here.
  • Coffee and Comment:  is a program hosted by Bethel Democratic candidates to discuss your ideas and concerns for a better Bethel. Each evening select candidates will be available to discuss the slated topic as well other questions and comments as time permits. Each session is at 110 Greenwood Ave. from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Today's session is with First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker and Selectman Rich Straiton, who will be on hand to discuss Energy Savings: Solar Farms and Fuel Cells.
  • Need to Register to Vote?: Today is the last day to mail in an absentee ballot in Bethel. Residents can continue to fill one out in person until November 1. Absentee ballots are available in the town clerks office between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call the registrar’s office at 203 794-8516.
  • Kindergarten Registration: The Bethel Public Schools is currently accepting pre-registration for students who will be entering kindergarten in August 2012. You can start the process by calling Sue White at 203-830-7355 any day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You will be asked for basic contact information so that the Board of Education can provide you with paperwork prior to our formal registration in April. In early February you will receive a packet of paperwork to complete, as well as your child’s school assignment.
