Purple Calypso at Molten Java

The weather may have been dismal last evening but the atmosphere at Molten Java in Bethel was anything but.  The group Purple Calypso gave an outstanding performance from 8p until 10p to the delight of patrons of all ages.  It's hard to believe that this jazz duo, Ben Fitzpatrick on sax and guitarist Joseph Natal, are still in high school.  A guest guitarist Nick Arne sat in at 9p.
Purple Calypso's goal is to combine jazz standards with their own modern twist and they have succeeded.  Their music brings back wonderful memories.  Some of my favorites were "So What" by Miles Davis, "Misty" by Enroll Garner, "Autumn Leaves" and "The Only One" by Ben Fitzpatrick.  For future performances check their website purplecalypso.com or their Facebook page.  Ben and Joe can be contacted by email at info@purplecalypso.com or by phone at 203-446-7881.
