More Vendors Added to Downtown Farmers Market

Shoppers are encouraged to stop by the downtown farmers market again this week for new vendors and a free movie on the lawn.

A letter sent by the First Selectman's Office said last week's farmers market was a "huge success," with several vendors running out of merchandise. Vendors will bring a greater variety of produce in the upcoming weeks now that've had a feel for the crowds.

Since opening day, the office has been contacted by many more vendors who are interested in participating. Here are some new vendors participating this week in the farmers market:

Olive Oils of the World: Owner Ersilia Moreno is an olive oil expert and has been buying and trying extra virgin olive oil out of a natural born passion to eat not just what is good for you, but what tastes good.  She will be here to help you choose the olive oils that best suit your palette and discuss with you how to best use these different Olive Oils of the World for cooking. She is a true purveyor and personally sources every product she sells and does not use third parties. She visits the farms and olive mills and has established a personal relationship with each of her suppliers. Her suppliers are true artisans and she only does business with those who want to proudly display their name on the label.
