“We have been following a strategy of growth through acquisition with the goal of creating an integrated and unified system statewide,” Aquarion President and CEO Charles V. Firlotte said. “As a regional water supplier, we will have the opportunity to act as a resource for these towns and work with them to help improve the overall water infrastructure in western Connecticut.”

In 2011 and 2012, Aquarion purchased and integrated 56 Connecticut water systems into its portfolio, which strengthened the company’s ability to deliver high quality water to communities throughout the state. Most recently, Aquarion completed its purchase of Meckauer Water Company based in Bethel.
