Library Hosts Popular Gardening Series in March

Forget the snow—get ready to garden! The Bethel Public Library hosts the Annual Gardening Series sponsored by the Bethel Garden Club, beginning March 3 with “Conservation Landscaping in Your Own Backyard.” Geordie Elkins, Operations Manager of Highstead, will explain how residential property owners can play an important part in environmental conservation by the landscaping decisions they make. On March 12, local gardening expert Martha Hoyt presents “Tips and Tales in the Spring Garden,” gives advice on how to have successful vegetable and flower gardens, and shows tools of the trade. On March 24, Len Giddix, co-host of the popular radio show Garden Talk, reveals the “7 Deadly Sins of Gardening.”  Len’s sage advice—gleaned from 50 years of experience—will help gardeners avoid falling into bad gardening habits.
