New principals will greet students at Anna H. Rockwell Elementary School and RMT John Elementary School Wednesday morning.

Trisha Soucy, a school administrator since 2010, has been appointed the new principal at Rockwell Elementary. Soucy has been working in education for over 10 years and has a master’s degree in education from the University of New Haven, as well as coursework credits from Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut.

Alison Salerno, formerly a math teacher and curriculum leader at Bethel Middle School, has taken over the helm at Johnson Elementary. She has a master’s degree in education, with a concentration in curriculum, and has taught in Connecticut schools since 1988.

“They are both highly intelligent, energetic individuals committed to serving our community to the best of their ability,” Bethel Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kevin Smith said in a letter introducing the new principals. “In two short months, they have already made a significant impact on our administrative team.”

Johnson Elementary students will also be going to school and getting out 5 minutes earlier this year, as the bus routes have been combined with Bethel Middle School. See school start and dismissal times below, as well as the new bus stops and routes.
