"The Illusionist," "Biutiful" Open at Bethel Cinema

Starting today, the Oscar nominated "Biutiful" and  "The Illusionist," staring will be playing at , according to owners Pamela and Ken Karpen's weekly newsletter.

"Biutiful," nominated for Best Picture and Best Foreign Film, is a Spanish films that follows the love story between a father and his children. As the father is encircled by fate, "a dim, redemptive road brightens, illuminating the inheritances bestowed from father to child, and the paternal guiding hand that navigates life's corridors, whether bright, bad - or biutiful." The film is rated R and is 110 minutes long. "The Illusionist," nominated for Best Animated Feature Film, follows one of the last illusionists in the 1950s, where "he is forced to accept increasingly obscure assignments in fringe theatres, at garden parties and in bars and cafes. Then, while performing in a village pub off the west coast of Scotland, he encounters Alice, an innocent young girl, who will change his life forever."
