CREATIVE CHALLENGE;  PUBLIC CALL TO GRAPHIC DESIGNERS!

Submit Entries for Association New Logo Design | Deadline April 6

The Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance announces a new Call for entries for eligibility to participate in a creative challenge: An Association Logo Design for HVCA.  The selected graphic designer will create a logo design package for HVCA to use on letterhead, business cards, brochures, banners, and websites.  Selected artist will also have the opportunity to provide collateral design services including membership brochures, banners, etc. 

In addition, the graphic designer will work with the web design team to update the website.  The winner of the challenge will receive cash compensation and award prizes – a value of $1,875 for the completion of design package and services. Prizes include a 1-hour consultation with Hal Tweedy and owner of Dream Bigger Coaching, a gift card from the Danbury Fair Mall, and 6-months logo banner advertisement.

The Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance is a regional arts organization in Western Connecticut serving Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman. Our goal is to significantly leverage creative resources in Art, Culture and History to energize our economy and improve overall quality of life.

Bethel Today, a local cable television show hosted by Janice Stevenson and sponsored by the Bethel Democratic Town Committee, will feature as its guest, Laura Vasile, Director of Health for the Town of Bethel.  Ms. Vasile discusses and answers questions concerning some of the Bethel Health Departments legal responsibilities and duties as well as the numerous programs it sponsors throughout the year.  The show will be broadcast on Tuesday, March 13 at 8:00 PM; and, on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 10:30 AM on Comcast Community Access, Channel 23.

MAR. 13 TIBETAN MEDICINE WORKSHOP: The Institute for Holistic Health Studies at WCSU in collaboration with Dr. Tashi Rabten, president of the Tibetan Medical Association, will present “Tibetan Medicine: Theory, Part II - mKhris-pa/Bile - The Temperature of Life” at 7:30 p.m. in Warner Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.
