Who Has the Best Ice Cream in CT?

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day by helping us find the best ice cream in Connecticut.

Sunday is National Ice Cream Day and in honor of the special occasion, Patch is looking for your input on the best ice cream shop in Connecticut.

Growing up in the state, I’ve tried ice cream and soft serve from the Dairy Bar on UConn’s campus in Storrs, to the South Lyme Scoop Shop on the shore, to Ferris Acres Creamery in Newtown. I’m also a big fan of Rita’s shaved ice, which has been expanding into the state in recent years.

But that’s just me. We want to hear from you.

We asked Patch Facebook readers from around Connecticut to nominate their favorite parlors for a battle royal poll to find the best ice cream in the state.

Find your favorite in the poll above (or add one we missed using the “other” option).

Let us know if it’s a special flavor that makes them great or if plain chocolate or vanilla is good enough to give you cravings. Also, just how far would you be willing to go to get your fix?

Vote in the poll above and give your favorite shop an extra shout-out in the comments below.
