South St Railroad Crossing to Close to Traffic Next Week

Vehicle will not be able to pass that part of South Street while crews work on the platform and drainage.

South Street will be closed at the railroad crossing for up to a week starting Friday, March 28, while Department of Transportation (DOT) crews replace the crossing platform and make improvements to the storm drain system.

The work is expected to last less than a week and should be wrapped up by Wednesday, April 2, First Selectman Matthew Knickerbocker said Thursday.

Traffic will be slow and difficult, so residents are being “strongly urged” to use other routes during the construction project.
