New Bike Racks Added to Downtown Bethel

First Selectman Matthew S. Knickerbocker says the new racks will improve safety and security.

They're new and they're expected to bring added safety and security to cyclists in Bethel.

A series of new bike racks are being installed throughout town, including at the , , , , Metro-North Train Station and Meckauer and Parloa parks.

The cost of the new bike racks is covered by a $6,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, according to .

I wish Matt Knickerbocker would devote more of our taxpayer paid time to get more businesses here. All I ever here about is the First Selectman devoting all his energy on his bicycling hobby. If he would put his toys away and focus on the local economy then we might be able to get more jobs in Bethel
