Greenwood, Taylor Ave. Closing at Railroad Crossings for Gate Repairs

Portions of both roads will be closed for a week each this month.

The railroad crossings on Greenwood Ave. and Taylor Ave. will be closed for a week each in June for repairs to the crossing gates, the Department of Transportation said Monday.

During construction, the crossings (and respective portion of the street) will be closed to all vehicle traffic.

The Greenwood Ave. crossing will be closed from Friday, June 13, beginning just after the morning rush hour, through 4 p.m. Thursday, June 19.

The Taylor Ave. crossing will be closed from Friday, June 27, through Wednesday, July 2.

Signs will be posted at each location a week before construction begins.

The DOT “strongly urged” residents and commuters to plan ahead, particularly by leaving time during the morning and afternoon commutes.
