Gallery: Bethel Bloomed Despite Brisk Weather

Weather didn't stop Bethel firefighters, who raised thousands for Mackenzie Newsome at Bethel Blooms.

Bethel Firefighters and volunteers raised $5,727 and "a five gallon bucket of changes" for Mackenzie Newsome, according to Firefighter Brendan Ryan.  He said, "We were able to give it to her dad at a fundraiser last evening. I am amazed at the generosity of our town and very proud of the people in our department."

Many were raising funds for charities with bake sales and Girls Scout cookie sales.

March had it's last shot at being cold and damp on Saturday, but it hardly made a dent in the atmosphere at the Municipal Center. It may have kept some families home, but for those who came out for the event, there were lobster rolls, art, music and beautiful baked goods.  In case you missed, you can walk through most of the event here.
