Friends of the Library Prepare for This Year's Big Sale

Tucked away in the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, a small but dedicated group spend their time among piles of books, readying them for the summer's big sales.

The Friends of the Library work all year to prepare for the sales, coming in July and August. Every Wednesday, they accept donations from residents, sort the books and price them for the sale.

"It's a lot of work, as you can see from all these boxes!" said president Linda Curtis, helping other members unload boxes of books. (As we chatted, two separate deliveries came in.)

After the sale, they'll take two months off, and -- as in previous years -- start right back up again, getting ready for 2014.
