D.A.W.S:. Tennessee Rescued Pups and Plenty of Kitties, Too.

DAWS is temporary home to more that 30 dogs and almost as many cats. Check out the cuteness factor and see if there is one for you.

Last week a van arrived with four more dogs, bringing the number of dogs at DAWS to above 30.  They were rescued from an over-crowded shelter in Tennessee that has a high rate of euthanizing the dogs.

A DAWS representative, who has what Veronica Bickelhaupt, DAWS shelter and clinic manager, called the hardest job in the place, visits the shelters and determines which dogs have the highest likelihood of being adopted and she ships them up to Connecticut.

Of the four dogs brought up last week, two have already gone home.  We are featuring the other two here.  One looks like a Jack Russell Terrier with a beagle head and the other is a beautiful brindle colored (like a tortoise shell cat) lab mix.

Don't miss the photos of the shepard mixed with who knows what. With ears like that, he could give the flying nun a run for her money.

And of course, kitties galore. There are silly cats, dignified cats, six toed cats and a curly tailed cat.  Lots of black and white cats, and a very good looking orange and white cat who strikes a pose at every opportunity, both last week and this week.

Have a look and maybe bring one home.
