City Hall: It Will Take 'A Couple Days' to Shovel-Out Milford’s Roads

On the Milford CT City Hall Facebook page, the City noted that "the full complement of Milford plow crews will continue to operate on a 24 hour basis."

Public Works asked for '24 hours,' but City Hall is saying it will be a 'couple days.'

The full statement from the Milford CT City Hall Facebook page:

Milford DPW continues to clear roads but, any volume over 24 inches requires that, in addition to plowing, we transport snow to other locations.

This changes the snow removal process considerably. Milford has brought-in 7 additional payloaders and hired numerous private contractors to assist clearing the City’s 22 plow routes.

The full complement of Milford plow crews will continue to operate on a 24 hour basis but the unprecedented nature of this storm will require a couple days to completely shovel-out Milford’s roads. Please be safe.

You might want to check your registration info. I have gotten at least 2 a day since Thursday when they started announcing parking bans and alternate side parking. As a matter of fact, I just got another as I type this saying primary thoroughfares and secondary streets have been plowed and they are beginning on side streets. 22 plow routes are opertaing 24/7 and additional heavy equipment is being required in many places. No school or trash pick up tomorrow.

Worried Half our street got plowed , so people like us on the street are worried because the street turns so it looks plowed but it isn't. Can we call some where because they shouldn't think it is plowed when it isn't :(.

Only part of Myrtlewood Drive was plowed. I hope the town sends the plows tonight so the three houses on the end of the street can get their cars out. People need to get to their jobs.
