A Day in the Park for Bethel Republicans

The town committee celebrated their annual Lobsterfest at Bennett Park Saturday.

Bethel Republican Town Committee celebrated its annual lobster festival Saturday at Bennet's Park, offering lobsters and other items with proceeds going to the upcoming campaign season.

The event offered Republican voters a chance to meet and discuss issues with Bethel's Republican candidates in the leadup to November.

"It's a perfect day. Absolutely perfect," said Kitty Grant. "We have some new faces on the way, and most of our candidates will be here by 5:00 p.m. We have some new faces on the way."

Familiar faces were present too, including Danbury mayor Mark Boughton and State Representative Dan Carter, who

"We got the best weather of the weekend," said Carter.

Bethel's Democrats will host their annual picnic tomorrow at the same spot in Bennett Park at 12:00 p.m. For more information, visit their website.
