Scarecrow Contest results are in!

Our first Annual Scarecrow Contest was a great success, with nearly 600 ballots cast during the Trick or Treat Street event!  The scarecrows, all built by Bethel childrens' groups, added a festive touch to the front lawn of Bethel United Methodist Church and the downtown area.

Here are the results....  Semifinalists:
Best Animal - Cat in the Hat, built by students at Bethel Middle School

Best Traditional Harvest Figure - Crows and Scarecrow, built by Village Preschool

Best Whimsical - Twinkle Treat Purple Fairy, built by Brownie Girl Scout Troop 50319.

And the Grand Prize Winner of the Pizza Party at Famous Pizza is....   The Cat in the Hat!

Congratulations, and thank you to all the groups who worked hard to submit entries.  Thank you as well to all those who took time out from trick or treating to review and vote for the scarecrows.  We hope to hold this event again next year, and we hope you will join us.

We would also like to all the businesses who sponsored our Scarecrow Contest:   AKM Associates, LLC; Angel Thorne Music; Belardinelli Tire; Bethel Eye Care; Brissette Tree Service; Brotherhood In Action of Bethel, Inc.; CT Martial Arts; English Apothecary; Famous Pizza; Kids Kuts and The ‘Lil Toy Store; OCON Termite and Pest Control, Inc.; Pavement Marking Plus, LLC; Peachwave; PSC Landscaping; RNM DJ Entertainment; The Toy Room; True Value; Varano Bakery; Wells Fargo Bank.
