Plumtrees School to Hold 3rd Annual Holiday Open House

The Plumtrees School Association will hold its Annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 14, 2012 from 1:00pm to 3:30pm.  Caroling led by the St. Mary Children’s Choir and Billy Michael, a visit from Santa, and refreshments will be included.  See how the school looked during the holiday season in the 1800s.

The Plumtrees School was built in 1867 as a one room school house for the Plumtrees District of Bethel. The school served the community from 1867 through 1970. At its closing it was the last operating one room school house in America. The Plumtrees School now serves the community as an educational museum.
