WestConn Hosts Classes and Events for All

 Western Connecticut State University hosts classes and events that are open to all.  

 SEPT. 5 ART SLIDE LECTURE: Painter Robert Berlind will discuss his work at 11 a.m. in Viewing Room 1 of White Hall on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. The event will be free and open to the public, and it will be presented as part of the university’s Master of Fine Arts slide lecture series.

 SEPT. 5 FACULTY RECITAL: WCSU Professor of Music Dr. Russell Hirshfield and Adjunct Instructor Deborah Lifton will perform at noon in Ives Concert Hall in White Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.  SEPT. 14 GOLDEN CIRCLE LUNCHEON: The annual Golden Circle Luncheon to honor WCSU alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago will be at noon in the lounge of Fairfield Hall on the university’s Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury.  SEPT. 28-30 IRISH FESTIVAL: The Greater Danbury Irish Festival will be at the Ives Concert Park on the WCSU Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. The event will feature Irish entertainment, imports, cultural exhibits, food and beverages, and Ceili and Set Dancing.  SEPT. 29 CARNIVAL TO BENEFIT THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT: A carnival to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the lawn of the Science Building on the WCSU Midtown campus, 181 White St. in Danbury. Live music, a meet-and-greet with veterans, carnival games, inflatables, a volleyball competition and all-you-can-eat barbecue will be featured. Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. WCSU students with valid I.D. will be admitted free.
