IBEW Local 420 and 457 Raise $20,000 for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

This fall more than 200 members of Connecticut IBEW Local 420 and 457 gathered for the union's annual golf tournament to raise money for the Connecticut Children's Medical Center. This year the two locals raised $20,000 to support critical care programs at Connecticut's leading pediatric hospital, since 2006 the two groups have generated $85,000 for the facility’s neonatal intensive care unit.

“There is no better feeling than being able to support such a critical cause,” said Frank Cirillo, business manager of IBEW Local 420. “Our men and women understand that giving back to the communities in which we live is an important part of being a good citizen and a good partner and we can think of no greater cause than the work done at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.”

"Bethel teachers are not only educating students, but when society lets kids down, it’sRead More teachers who step in to fill the gap." Explain to me how an average salary of $60,000 per year for working 183 days during that year and an EXTREMELY generous retirement package (compared to the 240 a year the rest of us have to work) considered "society letting them down"?
