 What is the origin of American football, and when was the first game played?

Football is an American version of English rugby. It was first played, on the college level, in 1869 -- in a 6-4 victory of Rutgers over Princeton.

 

Events & Reminders

 The Connecticut Student Film Festival will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday 5/11at Waterbury's Palace Theater.  The Connecticut Student Innovation Expo is a sort-of futuristic science fair to be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday 5/19 at Hartford's XL Center.

 Both of these events showcase students from across the state, with several Bethel student’s films in the program. Both events are free and open to the public, presented by Litchfield Education non-profit, Education Connection.

 The Governor and Lt. Governor will attend the Expo to celebrate the students' achievements.  Thank you and see you at the Film Festival and Expo!

Come learn more about the performance art of Winter Guard.  This opportunity is available to children from 2nd to 12th grade and is an exciting way for them to develop teamwork and sportsmanship. Staff & Guard Members will be available to provide information, demonstrate technique and answer questions.

Teen Crafts  Join us for a potpourri of crafts, including desktop helpers, decorated fabric belts, and mini-storage tins! All materials will be provided. Registration is required to ensure we have enough supplies.  6:30 PM  -  7:45 PM Library
